Ayushmann Khurrana to star in the next title of Jungle Pictures Doctor. It was announced in December 2020. Now, she has found the leading lady in Rakul Preet Singh. Actress Dr. Will play Fatima, who is a medical student.
The comedy-drama of the campus featured Ayushman Khurana Dr. Uday is in the form of Gupta and he is a college senior of Rakul Preet Singh’s character. Talking about his association with Jungle, Rakul said, “I am very excited to be a part of Doctor ji. For me for the first time in this film my co-star is Ayushman and I am Jungle Pictures and director Shubhamati Thank you. For bringing us together. I loved the script from the time I heard it. It is a very interesting concept of medical drama and campus comedy that will bring a fresh perspective to the audience. I am shooting the film. Can’t wait to start.
Director Anubhuti Kashyap also shares, “It is always wonderful to see two talented people coming together. For Doctorji, we wanted a very interesting artist and I am happy to have Ayushmann and Rakul with us. Their on-screen duo is as fresh as the characters they play in the film and their energy and chemistry will be unique and refreshing for the audience ”.
Junglee Pictures CEO Amrita Pandey shared, “Doctor ji is a story very close to our hearts and we are very excited to have Rakul in the lead cast of the film. He has proved his role as an actor in his previous films and is already liked by audiences across India. We can’t wait for the audience to see their pairing with Ayushmann in the film. “
Doctor, Ayushmann Khurrana, as the main protagonist, is co-written and directed by Anubhuti Kashyap. He has directed the dark comedy mini-series Afsos (Amazon Prime Video) and the acclaimed short film, Moi Marjani.
The film is written by Sumit Saxena, Vishal Wagh and Saurabh Bharat, who is interestingly a doctor-turned-writer and draws inspiration from his medical college life experiences. Saxena has also scripted the dialogues of this film.
