‘The Boss Baby 2: Family Business,’ a new animated film from Universal Pictures, has been announced for release. The film is a follow-up to the 2017 box office smash ‘The Boss Baby,’ starring Alec Baldwin as the titular character. The talented Baldwin will reprise his role as the title character in the new film, directed by Tom McGrath and written by Michael McCullers, as he did in the previous one. This movie is produced by Dream Works Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures.
McGrath will return to direct the sequel to Boss Baby, which was announced in May 2017. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the voice acting was done remotely. Animation began at DWA Glendale, with certain production materials taken from Jellyfish Pictures. Universal Pictures distributed the picture in theatres in the United States on July 2, 2021, in traditional and select RealD 3D and Dolby Cinema locations; it was also streamed for 60 days on Peacock’s paying tiers.
The picture grossed $113 million worldwide, with critics on Rotten Tomatoes describing it as “a painless diversion for the kids.” It was supposed to be out on March 26, 2021, however, it was pushed back to September 17, 2021.
