Navin Nischol was an Indian actor who was born on March 11, 1946. In 1970, he made his acting debut in the Hindi film Sawan Bhadon. Pyar Zindagi Hai, in which he co-starred alongside Rita Bhaduri and Raj Mohammed, was shot in Hyderabad in 1996.
Navin Nischol attended Bangalore Military School in Bangalore, which was once known as King George Royal India Military College. He was the first gold medalist from India’s Film and Television Institute to achieve fame. He starred in several superhits, including Victoria No. 203 (1972) and Dhund (1973), as well as Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005) and Hanste Zakhm.
Later in his career, Nischol shifted to character roles and established a successful television career. Dekh Bhai Dekh, starring Sushma Seth, Shekhar Suman, and Farida Jalal, was one of his most popular television serials. In addition, he appeared in the Punjabi films Aasra Pyar Da (1983) and Mahal Theek Hai (1999).
Navin’s first marriage was to Neelu Kapur, Dev Anand’s niece and Shekhar Kapur’s sister. He then married Geetanjali, a divorcee. Geetanjali hanged herself at her home on April 24, 2006. Nischol died of a heart attack while traveling from Mumbai to Pune on March 19, 2011. He was 65 years old at the time. From his first marriage, Naveen had two daughters named Natasha and Nomita.
