    In which Hollywood movie did the hero open the hotel in India?

    Anthony Maras directed and co-wrote Hotel Mumbai, a 2018 action thriller film directed by Maras and co-written by Maras and John Collee. It is a co-production between India, Australia, and the United States, and is based on the 2009 documentary Surviving Mumbai about the 2008 Mumbai attacks at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in India.

    The movie features Dev Patel, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Anupam Kher, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Jason Isaacs, Suhail Nayyar, Nagesh Bhosle, and Natasha Liu Bordizzo.

    On September 7, 2018, the movie opened at the Toronto International Film Festival, and on October 10, 2018, it opened in Australia at the Adelaide Film Festival. The film was released on 14 and 22 March 2019 in Australia and the United States, respectively, and on 29 November 2019 in India.
    The film’s primary photography began in August 2016 at the South Australian Film Corporation’s Adelaide Film Studios. In early 2017, filming in India continued.

    Hotel Mumbai made $9.7 million in the United States and Canada, and $11.5 million in other countries, for a total of $21.2 million globally. On March 22, the film was released in four theatres in the United States, then on March 29, it was expanded to 924 locations, generating $3.1 million in its second weekend.
