The ED has called Jacqueline Fernandez to its headquarters for questioning about the money laundering case involving con artist Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
Because of her name being included in the money laundering case involving Sukesh Chandrasekhar, an imprisoned con artist, Jacqueline Fernandez has been in the news. The most recent reports indicate that she had been called again for an investigation by the ED. She had already been questioned by the ED over this subject a number of times. According to rumours, Jacqueline was in a relationship with Sukesh and knew him well. The actor, though, has remained silent on the subject.
Jacqueline Fernandez was called to the ED’s headquarters, according to reports in ANI, and a government agency was there to record her statement for the case. Jacqueline’s 7.27 crore rupees worth of assets weren’t reported under the 2002 Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) until April. The Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police has filed a FIR against Sukesh Chandrasekhar, who is accused of using fake calls to phone individuals and defraud them. On this FIR, ED’s present case is founded. He claimed to be a government official offering to aid individuals for a fee, and the numbers that appeared on their phones appeared to be from officials of the government. In September 2021, the Delhi Police detained Sukesh and his wife, the actor Leena Maria Paul, for their suspected involvement in a case of duping.
Sukesh Chandrasekhar reportedly admitted to police during this probe that he had given Jacqueline Fernandez a number of presents totaling Rs. 5.71 crore and that the money came from proceeds of illegal activity, including extortion. According to the ED, in addition to these presents, Sukesh reportedly gave close relatives of Jacqueline money totaling $172,913 and Aus $26,740. According to the agency, Sukesh Chandrasekhar also gave a scriptwriter a cash advance of Rs. 15 lakhs for developing a script for Jacqueline’s web series.
