How is the film The Chaser?

Kim Yoon-Seok and Ha Jung-Woo featured in The Chaser, a 2008 South Korean action thriller film. Na Hong-Jin made his directing debut with this film. The film was shot on-site in Seoul’s Mapo District, around Mangwon-dong, and was inspired by real-life Korean serial killer Yoo Young-Chul.

The Chaser is a narrative about Alan Austen, a young guy who is profoundly in love with Diana and wishes for her to feel the same way about him. She seemed to be unconcerned about him. As a result, Alan decides to pay a visit to an elderly guy who works in an unusual profession: selling magic potions. When they get to talking about potions, the old man shows him a liquid called glove-cleaner or life-cleaner, which costs $5,000. Alan, on the other hand, claims that he requires a love potion.

The old man informs him that there is a one-dollar love potion available. The old man tells Alan that the effects of the liquid will last a lifetime before handing it to him. He promises Alan that she will only want to be with him, to know everything there is to know about him and to devote her entire life to pleasing him with overwhelming love. Finally, Alan departs the scene with the liquid.

On February 14, 2008, The Chaser was released in South Korea. It came in second at the box office throughout the weekend, with US$3,914,847, behind the American thriller Jumper. It then topped the box office for three weekends in a row, grossing a total of US$35,760,133 as of June 1, 2008. The Chaser was the third most popular film in South Korea in 2008, after The Good, the Bad, and the Weird and Scandal Makers, with a total of 5,120,630 admissions.
