I Spit on Your Grave is a rape and revenge horror film from the United States released in 2010. It is a remake of the controversial 1978 cult film I Spit on Your Grave. It stars Sarah Butler, Jeff Branson, Daniel Franzese, Rodney Eastman, Chad Lindberg, Tracey Walter, and Andrew Howard, and was directed by Steven R. Monroe and written by Stuart Morse, based on Zarchi’s screenplay from the original film.

CineTel distributed it, while Paul Hertzberg, the company’s president, and CEO, produced it. Executive producers included Lisa Hansen, Jeff Klein, Alan Ostroff, Gary Needle, and Meir Zarchi (original director). On November 2, 2009, principal photography began, with location filming in Louisiana.

I Spit on Your Grave had its world premiere on Texas Frightmare Weekend on May 1, 2010, and was distributed theatrically in the United States by Anchor Bay on October 8, 2010. On a $2 million budget, the picture received unfavorable reviews and grossed $572,809. I Spit on Your Grave 2 (2013) and I Spit on Your Grave III: Vengeance Is Mine is the two sequels of the film (2015).

Under the supervision of Steven R. Monroe, principal photography began on November 2, 2009. CineTel released the picture, which was produced by Paul Hertzberg, the company’s president, and CEO. Executive producers included Lisa Hansen, Jeff Klein, Alan Ostroff, Gary Needle, and Meir Zarchi (original director). Louisiana was used as a filming location. Stuart Morse wrote the script, which was based on Zarchi’s screenplay.

Anchor Bay Entertainment is in charge of the film’s video release in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. On February 8, 2011, the DVD and Blu-ray were released in the United States. Director Steven R. Monroe and producer Lisa Hansen provide an audio commentary on the DVD, which also includes 11 deleted scenes, teasers, and trailers. Just before its April release, the DVD was prohibited in New Zealand.
