A new economic system employs time as currency instead of fiat money, and each individual wears a clock on their arm that counts down how much longer they have to live. Will Salas (Justin Timberlake) is a poor man who rarely has more than a day’s worth of life on his time clock in a future where time is money and the wealthy can live forever. Will is given the gift of a century when he saves Henry Hamilton (Matt Bomer) from time thieves.

Before the title In Time, the film was known as Now and I’m.mortal. Amanda Seyfried was given a leading role in the film on July 12, 2010. Justin Timberlake was confirmed to have been given the main role on July 27, 2010. Cillian Murphy was confirmed to have joined the cast on August 9, 2010.
In Time debuted at number three behind Puss in Boots and Paranormal Activity 3 with a weekend gross of $12 million. During its 14-weekend box office run, the film’s performance deteriorated. The picture grossed over $37.5 million in the United States and $136.4 million elsewhere, for a total of $173.9 million worldwide.
