In 2004, Vivek Anand Oberoi joined hands with the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA). He came up with a novel idea 18 years ago when he celebrated his birthday with children fighting cancer. Over the past 18 years, he has helped more than 2,50,000 underprivileged children to fight cancer emotionally and financially. With the CPAA, Vivek rescued families sleeping on the pavement outside Tata Memorial Hospital, gave them a place to live and financially supported their children to fight the terrible disease. He has spoken to forging relationships with doctors, thanking them and accepting them for not charging, receiving life-saving drugs at discounted prices, and partnering with CPAA from pharmaceutical companies.
