Arjun Rampal, who is currently shooting Rage Is a busy year, starring Kangana Ranaut. The actor has signed a new project which revolves around the serious issue of rape. The project in question is titled Rapist And Konkona Sen Sharma will also star alongside Rampal, bringing them together for the second time after Venod Mitra’s 2013 independent film Meridian lines That told the story of seven troubled strangers.
Konkana’s mother and well-known Bengali filmmaker Aparna Sen is directing the film produced under the banner of Talia Entertainment. “Rapist Is a hard-hitting drama that examines how responsible society is for the creation of rapists. It is about the trauma of the victim, the circumstances, and how she treats a woman. Pre-production has already started and will officially hit the ground in March.
Rapist Like any other critically acclaimed Aparna Sen project, which is believed to present socio-political realities in the most sensible way. It is expected to be political and outspoken like his films 36 Chowringhee Lane (1981), Paroma (1984), Escort (1995), Mr. and Mrs. Iyer (2002) among others. Arjun Rampal- will be the filmmaker’s third Hindi film after Konkona Sen Sharma film Saree Raat (2015) and the highly intellectual Sonata (2017) revolve around three middle-aged women.
The actor-director-activist never hesitated to express her concerns about violence, rape, or intimidation against women through her films.
