A number of internet users recently accused renowned director Karan Johar of bringing Alia Bhatt to the Met Gala in 2023, prompting a harsh response on social media. KJo was the target of criticism after Indian fashion designer Prabal Gurung revealed that he had first met Alia at Karan’s illustrious 40th birthday celebration. The internet was left to speculate after Prabal’s admission about whether Karan brought Alia to the famous fashion event as a favour.
The filmmaker has now made a subtle jab at trolls who are harassing him for the same. He sent a mysterious message on his Instagram account that stated, “Dear Opinion I know you work 365 days a year ..relentlessly … but my request is for you take Sundays off…Exhaustingly yours, Receiving end.”
This is not the first time that Johar has faced backlash for his support of nepotism. At the Met Gala 2023, which was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, Alia made an impressive debut. She attracted attention with a flowing white gown with a bottom that spilled into a lengthy trail and was fashioned with 100,000 pearls.
