Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan fans are in for a disappointment. Their film “The Immortal Ashwatthama” has been put on indefinite hold. The film has been on the pre-production side for over two years. After considerable preparations, producer Ronnie decided to shelve the film. It appears that the producer and director Aditya Dhar were not on the same page. They had multiple indifferences, hence the project could not progress.
Subsequent to the decision, Vicky and Sara have already started to find new projects. Earlier they had reserved the dates for this modern-day mythology. The film was supposed to be entirely shot in Greenland, Tokyo, New Zealand, and other locations. Till now, only a couple of posters were shared on social media by the makers. There was no major update.
Furthermore, the post-production, including VFX was scheduled to happen in the US. It was the second collaboration between Vicky Kaushal, Aditya Dhar, and Ronnie Screwvala. Earlier the trio had worked in “Uri: The Surgical Strike”. This project was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2019. Therefore, the viewers had high expectations from “The Immortal Ashwatthama.
“The Immortal Ashwatthama” has been in the prep stage for over two years now. The makers arranged for an international action unit on board. They intended to train Sara and Vicky for their action-packed role. Producer Ronnie Screwvala spent over Rs 30 crore on the project. However, the entire investment has now gone for a toss.
Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal will be next seen in Sardar Udham Singh. The film is directed by Shoojit Sircar of Madras Café and Piku fame. Whereas, on the other hand, Sara Ali Khan is gearing up for the release of Atrangi Re.
