Pooja Entertainment: Can Bollywood’s Former Hit-Machine Break Its 16-Film Losing Streak?

Once a powerhouse of Bollywood blockbusters, Pooja Entertainment is now facing an alarming dry spell at the box office. The production house, which delivered hits like Sarbjit (2016), has since struggled to recapture its former glory, with 16 consecutive films failing to strike gold. Despite banking on big names, star-studded casts, and ambitious projects, their recent ventures have struggled to leave an impact.

The Beginning of a Downward Spiral

Pooja Entertainment’s struggle began post-Sarbjit, as films like Coolie No. 1 (2020), Bell Bottom (2021), Cuttputlli (2022), and Mission Raniganj (2023) failed to resonate with audiences. Even projects featuring Bollywood’s biggest names, including Ganapath (2023) and the much-hyped Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024), failed to turn the tide in their favor.

Their latest release, Mere Husband Ki Biwi (2025), was expected to be the much-needed hit to break the streak. However, its box office fate seems to be following the same trajectory as its predecessors. Despite promotions and pre-release buzz, the film hasn’t managed to pull in the numbers required to label it a success.

Will Pooja Entertainment make a grand comeback? Or will its struggles continue in an industry that waits for no one? Only time will tell.
