Legendary singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri passed away on Tuesday shortly around but for his fans and loved ones, his legacy is immortal. He Composed and crooned some of the biggest hits of the 1980s and was popularly known as the ‘Disco King’ of Bollywood.

1. Bappi Da’s real name
Bappi Lahiri was born as Alokesh Lahiri and eventually adopted Bappi as his name.
2. Bappi Da started playing tabla at the age of three
Bappi Da discovered his passion for music at a very young age and he started playing table when he was only 3 years old. Since then, he perfected his craft to reach heights of popularity.
3. Kishore Kumar was Bappi Lahiri’s maternal uncle
On a musical reality show, Bappi Lahiri had revealed that even though he and Kishore Kumar were not related by blood, Kishore Da’s mother saw his mother as a daughter and he was the closest to him. Bappi Da often shared stories of his childhood years spent with Kishore Da.
4. Bappi Da’s world record
Bappi Da’s name earned a place in the Guinness Book of World records for recording more than 180 songs for 33 movies which were all released in 1986.
5. Bappi Da’s style inspiration
In one of the episodes of Indian Idol, Bappi Da revelaed that his style inspiration is Elvis Presley.
