Aao Wish Karein, a Bollywood fantasy drama film directed by Glen Barreto, was released in 2009. The main characters in the film are Aftab Shivdasani and Aamna Shariff. On November 13th, 2009, it was released.
‘All I asked for was a passably wonderful movie, which Aao Wish Karein failed to offer,’ Anupama Chopra said to a news channel in her review. ‘Stay at a safe distance.’ Nikhat Kazmi of the Times of India gave it two out of five stars. Taran Adarsh of Sify.com gave the film 1.5 out of 5 stars, saying it has some nice moments but not enough to redeem it and is far from a fairy tale.
This is unquestionably significant for Aftab Shivdasani. He takes on the job of producer with Aao Wish Karein. While this is a positive step forward, the result does not turn out to be the daring actor’s fairy tale debut. This is owing to the film’s inability to identify its target audience.
Is this a family flick or one for the bada log? If that’s the case, there’s way too much baba log (the children’s track is considerably too long) and far too little adult content in the film. As a result, the image hangs precariously on the precipice of no man’s land.
The girl, a simple hill lass, is completely unaware of what’s going on and simply thinks he’s cute. She even persuades him to marry her and stands at the altar, veil, and everything, waiting for him. Will the upcoming groom, who is both a child and an adult, follow through?
That is an important question… Influenced by Tom Hanks’ Oscar-nominated film (Big) from 1988, the film lacks the spice that makes Penny Marshal’s film so unforgettable. Furthermore, Aftab and Aamna’s romance is incredibly Thanda. Is it a thoda or a desire?
