    Chefs Kunal Kapoor and Ranveer Brar pay tribute to legendary singer Bappi Lahiri

    Renowned Chefs Kunal Kapur and Ranveer Brar paid their last respects to the iconic singer-composer Bappi Lahiri on social media. The singer passed away on Tuesday night, February 15, at a CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai hospital. He was 69.

    Taking to Instagram, Chef Kunal Kapur posted a photo of Bappi Da and wrote, “Another legendary singer gone too soon.”

    Ranveer Brar took to Twitter and penned, “Kabhi alvida na kehna…Another great great loss to the world of music. #RIPBappiDa.” Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna is a part of iconic song Chalte Chalte composed by Bappi Lahiri.

    Politicians and several celebrities including Raveena Tandon, Kajol, and Akshay Kumar fondly remembered Bappi Da on social media. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the legendary singer on Twitter. PM Modi added, “Shri Bappi Lahiri Ji’s music was all-encompassing, beautifully expressing diverse emotions. People across generations could relate to his works. His lively nature will be missed by everyone. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”

    West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote, “Shocked to hear about the untimely demise of legendary singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri. A boy from our North Bengal, he rose to all-India fame and success by the dint of his sheer talent and hard work, and made us proud by his musical contributions.”

    Bappi Da, famously known as Bollywood’s Disco King, is celebrated for songs like Yaad Aa Raha Hai, Yaar Bina Chain Kahan Re, Ooh La La, Bambai Se Aaya Mera Dost, are some of his popular chartbusters.
