After the shooting of the movie, ‘MayDay’, actor Ajay Devgn was all set to shoot for the sports drama movie, ‘Maidaan’. Earlier a team was working towards a set of the football stadium at Madh Island in Mumbai. The ‘Maidaan’ team had announced that the shooting will start at the end of January.
A source shared, “The last schedule of Maidaan demands Ajay to shoot with multiple cast and crew members from abroad, and given the new strain of COVID 19, Ajay and co didn’t want to risk on bringing 100s of members from abroad risking not just the team of Maidaan, but also the citizens of Mumbai in doing so and hence, they amicably decided to push the final schedule of the film to Summer 2021,”
As of now, 65% of the film is completed and will be shot non- stop till the end of April after 14th February. Ajay will be shooting on February 14 in Powai, Mumbai. From the last past two months, the football coaching and choreography along with the physical conditioning camp has been on with the players. On 14th February, Ajay will join the shoot and after finishing his role he will join the team on 10th March in Madh. The production team has ensured about all the safety measures and precautions for the team’s good health.
In the film, Ajay will be as Syed Abdul Rahim, who will know as the finest football coach that emerged from India. The VFX work of the film has been in progress throughout the lockdown. The poster and new release date of the film was also been announced. The film has been directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma. The film also starrers Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh.
