The rapid rise in covid cases is increasing and the film industry have been hit hard due to lockdown. Several films have been released on digital platform like OTT, and completely skipping their theatrical release. And now, the upcoming horror film starring Arjun Kapoor is also heading for a direct release on OTT.
Earlier, it was reported that Bhoot Police will come out in theatres in September this year. As per reports, a source confirmed that the producer of the film Ramesh Taurani has decided to skip a theatrical release.
The source shared that the director has decided to take a digital route, “There is so much uncertainty around the country due to the spike in COVID-19 cases and no one can assure as to when will things be back to normal. The cinema consumption habit has also changed for the audience significantly and only event films will get the cash registers ringing to start with. Hence, Ramesh Ji decided to take a direct to digital route with his horror comedy.”
Producer Ramesh Taurani has already agreed with the steaming service Disney+ Hotstar. “Disney+ Hotstar is on acquisition spree again, speaking to multiple producers. If all goes as planned, they will announce a slate of Hindi releases for their platform, in the same manner as they did in 2020,”
Arjun Kapoor and Saif Ali Kapoor will be seen together in this film. Jacqueline Fernandez will also be seen in the movie. Arjun Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Sardar Ka Grandson’ will also be release on digital platform. The movie will be premiered on Netflix on may 18. Salman Khan’s Radhe also got release on digital platform, but the film released on pay-per-vie format on Zee5.
