    Bappi Lahiri demise: Netizens mourn the demise; say ‘Your music will always be alive in our hearts’

    In a sad turn of events, legendary singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri left for heavenly abode following multiple health issues at Mumbai’s CritiCare Hospital. He was 69.

    Dr Deepak Namjoshi informed the news agency, “Lahiri had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight.”

    Several celebrities and fans all around the globe have taken to their social media handles to pay tributes.

    A user wrote, “Life is very unpredictable. It’s only a few weeks ago I have seen Bappi da in Bigg Boss. He was smiling and happy and now this news. Rest in peace Legend. You will always be remembered as our Disco King. #BappiLahiri.”

    ”Shocked! The true king of pop. Bappi da there was and will never be anyone like you. Your music will always be alive in our hearts. Omm Shanti.     Bappi Lahiri was born in 1952 in Calcutta, West Bengal in a family of musicians. His inclination towards music started at the young age of three and he started learning to play the tabla. The veteran singer is survived by his wife Chitrani, two children — son Bappa Lahiri and daughter Reema, who is also a singer.
