Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, and Dhanush starrer Atrangi Re have released on Disney+ Hotstar today, December 24. The film, which is an unusual, strange love story, is Hotstar’s big Christmas 2021 release.
However, the film has fallen prey to piracy on the very day of its digital release. Atrangi Re full movie is leaked online on Tamilrockers, MovieRulz, Telegram, and more piracy sites. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the film has been getting rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Tamil superstar Dhanush’s performance is being praised, and so is Sara Ali Khan’s boldness.

Hence the views, and subscriptions that Disney+ Hotstar could otherwise expect, would definitely take a hit.
Nevertheless, this is not the first time that a big film, which has been much-awaited having been leaked online on the very day of its release. Recently, Akshay Kumar’s cop drama Sooryavanshi also met the same fate. The full movie was leaked online for free download on the day of release. Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe, Salman Khan’s Radhe: The most wanted Bhai and Kurup of Dulquer Salmaan and Suriya’s Jai Bhim, and many more films have been leaked online by piracy sites.
Meanwhile, filmmakers and actors have urged the viewers many times to not fall for these temptations to watch films for free on these piracy sites. They requested audiences to watch films and web series only in theatres or the authorized OTT platforms on which they are releasing. While it is in the interest of the entertainment industry, viewers will also be saved from online scams, phishing, viruses, and more.
Furthermore, the pirated versions do not provide the viewers with the right kind of movie-watching experience. Understandably, the quality will be compromised in these leaked film versions.
As regards Atrangi Re, the film is a unique love story where a Tamil boy (Dhanush), meets a girl from Bihar (Sara Ali Khan). The Tamil dubbed version of the film is titled Galatta Kalyanam.
