Amitabh Bachchan has been asked by a national anti-tobacco organization to withdraw from an advertising campaign. The advertisement is for promoting pan masala. The organization gives a reason that the campaign would motivate youngsters to get tobacco addiction.
The above-mentioned organization has issued a written letter to megastar Amitabh Bachchan. They mentioned that it is proven in medical research that pan masala decays the health of the person who is consuming it. Amitabh Bachchan is also the government brand ambassador for the high-profile pulse polio campaign. Therefore, he should withdraw himself from the pan masala ads as soon as possible.
Additionally, the letter written to Mr, Bachchan reads, “Pan (betel leaf) is cancer-causing, it leads to oral cancer.” Mr. Salkar also added that “As an oncologist and member of an NGO, I am grieved that celebrities are promoting such products. Famous Bollywood actors like Shah Rukh, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, and Hritik Roshan are also promoting cancer-causing products.
