Amitabh Bachchan known of the megastar in the Indian film industry. The actor has managed to adapt and success every stage of his career. As per the recent reports, the superstar has now bought a 5, 184 sq ft property in Mumbai worth Rs 31 crore in a project Atlantis by a Tier-2 builder. The per sq foot cost of the property comes around Rs 60,000. The actor paid a stamp duty of Rs.62 lakh taking advantage of Maharashtra government’s stamp waiver of 2 percent until March 31,2021.
Last year, the Maharashtra Government had reduced the stamp duty on housing units from 5 per cent to 2 per cent until December 31, 2020, to boost the real estate business which was hit hard by the pandemic. The stamp duty was 3 per cent from January 1 2021 until March 31, 2021. Other celebrities have to taken the advantage of the waiver to invest in luxury properties.
Actor Sunny Leone has also purchased an apartment in the same project which is worth Rs.16 crore. Aanand L Rai also purchased a duplex apartment in the same project for Rs 25.3 crore. Other celebrities like Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha have also purchased Sky villas in Bandra worth over Rs 20 crore each.
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan has many interesting movies in his pipeline. The veteran actor is waiting for the release of Brahmastra starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Mouni Roy. He will also appear in the upcoming film, Chehre’. He has also signed The Goodbye co-starring Rashmika Mandanna and Neena Gupta. The megastar will be seen sharing screen with actress Deepika Padukone.
