Drishyam 3 at Rs 587.30 cr Worldwide as Fifth Week Drops 97%

Ajay Devgn's mystery thriller collected Rs 55 lakh net on day 34; India net is Rs 379.20 cr, worldwide gross Rs 587.30 cr as fifth-week collections fall 97%.

Drishyam 3 worldwide gross reaches Rs 587.30 cr

After a blockbuster opening, Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is now deep into its theatrical long tail. On Wednesday, 4 November, the Ajay Devgn-led mystery thriller collected Rs 55 lakh net in India from 3,014 shows, a 26.7% drop from the previous day’s Rs 75 lakh.

The domestic net total now stands at Rs 379.20 crore, with India gross at Rs 454.10 crore. Overseas markets added Rs 133.20 crore, taking the worldwide gross to Rs 587.30 crore. That leaves the film about Rs 2.70 crore short of the Rs 590 crore milestone.

The film continues the story of Vijay Salgaonkar years after he evaded the law, with Meera Deshmukh returning for revenge and a new Crime Branch officer testing his alibis. That narrative has done its job; the box-office conversation is now about the final total.

A front-loaded run, week by week

The day-34 number is small, but the week-by-week pattern explains it.

  • Week 1: Rs 245.50 cr net / Rs 294.60 cr gross
  • Week 2: Rs 87.50 cr net / Rs 104.45 cr gross, a 64.4% fall
  • Week 3: Rs 28.85 cr net / Rs 34.47 cr gross, a 67% fall
  • Week 4: Rs 11.15 cr net / Rs 13.20 cr gross, a 61.4% fall
  • Week 5, first six days: Rs 6.20 cr net / Rs 7.38 cr gross

The fifth-week collection is down around 97.5% against the opening week. That sounds stark, but it is the expected shape of a front-loaded Hindi release: a large initial audience arrives at once, and each following weekend works through a much smaller base of repeat and late viewers.

Theatres are winding down

The Hindi 2D version recorded 8.69% occupancy on Wednesday. Night shows were strongest at 10.42%, followed by evening at 8.75%, afternoon at 8.08%, and morning at 6.33%.

Single-digit occupancy signals that the film has largely exhausted its theatrical audience. The remaining question is not whether it will keep many screens for several more weeks, but how quickly it closes the gap to Rs 590 crore.

What the last few crores look like

Worldwide gross of Rs 587.30 crore is still a substantial cumulative total across domestic and international markets. On Wednesday, the global addition was roughly Rs 70 lakh, made up of Rs 55 lakh net in India and Rs 15 lakh overseas. If that pace holds, the remaining Rs 2.70 crore would take about four more days.

For trade watchers, the Rs 590 crore mark is a milestone for the film’s cumulative record, not evidence of new momentum. The daily and weekly declines are steep, but they follow a pattern that has been visible since the second week. The more meaningful figure is the total the film settles at once official figures are final.

As with all trade figures, these are estimates compiled from public and industry sources. Official studio updates and late international market reports can still move the final number.
