Ramayana advance is 2026’s fifth-biggest opener at Rs 24.7 crore

Ramayana has locked Rs 24.7 crore net in Day 1 advance sales with 36 hours left, entering 2026's top five Bollywood openings before release.

Ramayana advance: Rs 24.7 crore, fifth-biggest opener

The Diwali box office is getting an early answer. With more than a day of advance sales still left, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has become the fifth-biggest Bollywood opener of 2026 on pre-bookings alone, according to Koimoi’s tracking.

What the advance numbers show

As of 5 pm on 3 November, Ramayana had locked a Day 1 gross of Rs 29.10 crore, or Rs 24.7 crore net, from advance ticket sales. The film sold around 7.42 lakh tickets across 21,543 tracked shows in India. That excludes blocked seats, which makes the figure a conservative measure of demand.

Those pre-sales have already carried the film past the full opening-day collections of Awarapan 2 (Rs 23.4 crore), Welcome To The Jungle (Rs 19.4 crore) and Bhooth Bangla (Rs 18.31 crore).

The list it just entered

Here is where the film sits among 2026’s top Bollywood openings by India net collection:

  • Dhurandhar 2: Rs 145 crore
  • Drishyam 3: Rs 62 crore
  • Border 2: Rs 32.1 crore
  • Mirzapur: The Movie: Rs 28.11 crore
  • Ramayana: Rs 24.7 crore (1.5 days of booking left)
  • Awarapan 2: Rs 23.4 crore
  • Welcome To The Jungle: Rs 19.4 crore
  • Bhooth Bangla: Rs 18.31 crore
  • Dhamaal 4: Rs 15.5 crore
  • Cocktail 2: Rs 14.1 crore

Where the demand is coming from

Karnataka is the largest state market so far, with Rs 5.6 crore gross and 1.16 lakh tickets, powered by Yash as Ravana. Bengaluru is the top city with Rs 4.28 crore gross from 84,300 tickets. Telangana leads the houseful count in tracked shows, followed by Gujarat. That southern strength suggests Ramayana is behaving less like a Hindi-only release and more like a pan-India event.

The next marker is the final 36 hours. With Rs 24.7 crore already banked, the film is only a few crores behind Mirzapur’s Rs 28.11 crore and Border 2’s Rs 32.1 crore. Spot bookings on Diwali will decide whether it climbs higher. For viewers, Bengaluru and Hyderabad shows are filling early, so booking ahead is the safer move.
