With Dhindora Season 1 now on Netflix and Season 2 on the way, Bhuvan Bam celebrates a milestone for two of his most loved shows.
Bhuvan Bam has another reason to celebrate as two of his shows, Dhindora and Taaza Khabar, have found a place in IMDb’s 10 Years of Streaming in India report. The report looks back at the most popular Indian streaming series between 2016 and 2026, with both of Bhuvan’s shows featuring among the top 10 titles for their respective years.
Dhindora, which Bhuvan independently created and released on YouTube in 2021, secured the third spot on the report’s 2021 list. Taaza Khabar, which saw him take on a completely different character as Vasya, ranked third in 2023 and also featured at number seven in 2024.
For Bhuvan, the recognition is particularly special because the two shows represent very different parts of his journey. While Dhindora brought his much-loved BB Ki Vines characters together in a scripted series, Taaza Khabar saw him step into a dramatic lead, giving audiences an opportunity to see a different side of him as an actor.
Reacting to the recognition, Bhuvan Bam says, “Honestly, it’s a very special feeling to see both Dhindora and Taaza Khabar on this list. Dhindora was something we built from scratch, with a lot of faith in the characters and the audience that had supported us for years. Taaza Khabar was a completely different experience for me as an actor, and I remember being equally excited and nervous about how people would respond to Vasya. To see both shows being remembered like this means a lot. It also belongs to every single person who worked on these projects and helped bring them to life. I’m just very grateful that audiences have continued to give both shows so much love.”
For Rohit Raj, Founder and CEO of BBKVProductions, the recognition also reflects the potential of creator-led storytelling to build lasting intellectual property.
Rohit Raj, Founder and CEO of BBKVProductions, says, “For us, the real win is building stories that continue to find audiences long after their first release. Dhindora and Taaza Khabar represent two different sides of what we set out to build at BBKVProductions, and seeing both recognised is incredibly rewarding.”
The recognition also comes at an exciting time for Dhindora. The first season, which originally premiered on YouTube, is now available on Netflix, with the highly anticipated second season set to arrive on the platform. The upcoming installment will bring back Bhuvan’s familiar characters.
From creating an entire universe of characters in Dhindora to carrying a dramatic series in Taaza Khabar, Bhuvan has continued to explore different sides of himself as a performer. More recently, he took on the role of Rash Behari Bose in The Revolutionaries, further adding to the range of characters he has portrayed.
With two of his shows finding a place in IMDb’s retrospective and Dhindora 2 on the horizon, the recognition marks another milestone in Bhuvan’s journey as an actor and entrepreneur, as well as the growth of BBKVProductions. Co-founded by Bhuvan and Rohit Raj, the production house has grown from its digital roots into a platform for building original stories across formats, with Dhindora and Taaza Khabar standing as two defining examples of that journey.
