Drishyam 3 nears ₹500 crore as Mohanlal praises finale

Day 11 worldwide gross stands at ₹489.74 crore, second among 2026 Hindi films; Mohanlal calls the Ajay Devgn finale a befitting end.

Drishyam 3 nears ₹500 crore worldwide

Eleven days into its run, Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion is one strong weekend away from a benchmark that has become the new litmus test for Hindi films: ₹500 crore worldwide. The finale chapter stands at ₹489.74 crore globally, making it the second-highest-grossing Hindi release of 2026 so far.

The number arrives with a notable creative seal. Mohanlal, who originated the role of Vijay Salgaonkar in the Malayalam Drishyam films, has now watched the Hindi ending and praised the team behind the three-film arc.

Day 11, by the numbers

Trade tracker Sacnilk reported ₹6.25 crore in net domestic collections on the film’s eleventh day, from 13,605 shows across India. The cumulative totals after Day 11:

  • India net: ₹315.25 crore
  • India gross: ₹378.24 crore
  • Overseas gross: ₹111.50 crore
  • Worldwide gross: ₹489.74 crore

Overseas markets contributed ₹2.50 crore in gross on Day 11, lifting the international total to ₹111.50 crore. With India’s gross at ₹378.24 crore, the combined worldwide figure is now ₹489.74 crore.

The original star’s verdict

In a video released by Star Studio 18, Mohanlal said he was “truly impressed with the way they have brought this much-loved journey to a befitting end.” He congratulated Abhishek Pathak, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Ajay Devgn and the cast and crew.

Endorsement carries weight because the Hindi series is a remake arc. Drishyam arrived in 2015 as a Hindi remake of Jeethu Joseph’s Malayalam original, and Drishyam 2 followed in 2022. With this third film billed as the conclusion, Mohanlal’s nod gives the adaptation a sense of having earned its ending.

The 2026 race

The film is not the year’s top earner. Dhurandhar: The Revenge still leads with ₹1,149.30 crore net in India and ₹1,813.39 crore worldwide. But the closer’s stake is different: it is outperforming the franchise’s earlier chapters and nearing a threshold that only the biggest Hindi films cross.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had already called the finale the best in the franchise and a “sure-shot blockbuster” in his review. The box office is now testing that word.

What to watch next

The gap to ₹500 crore worldwide is a little over ₹10 crore. Steady weekday holds and one more strong weekend could carry the film into the club. That outcome would give 2026 its second Hindi release above the mark—and make a final chapter the series’ biggest earner, a rare exclamation point for a long-running story.

The cast holds the continuity together: Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay, Tabu as IG Meera Deshmukh, Shriya Saran as Nandini, and Rajat Kapoor in the ensemble. The franchise’s central question—how far a father will go to protect his family—has travelled across two languages and three instalments, and it now has the box office to match its longevity.
