Mohanlal backs Drishyam finale after ₹480 crore worldwide run

The third and final Hindi Drishyam film has received a public endorsement from Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. In a video shared by the makers of Drishyam: The Conclusion, he said he has watched the Ajay Devgn-led film and was impressed by how the team closed the story.

“I watched Drishyam: The Conclusion, and I am truly impressed with the way they have brought this much-loved journey to a befitting end,” Mohanlal said in the video. He congratulated director Abhishek Pathak, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, Ajay Devgn and the cast and crew.

A closing note with franchise weight

Mohanlal’s message matters because it treats the Hindi ending as an event in the larger Drishyam story. The film opened on October 2, 2026, and the endorsement has arrived while it is still running in theatres and adding to its totals. It positions the conclusion as a respectful counterpart to the source material, and it gives audiences of both versions a shared moment to judge whether the ending landed.

The franchise has long depended on a compact central family and a long shadow of consequences. A conclusion, rather than another extension, changes the stakes: every unanswered question now becomes a final answer. Mohanlal’s reaction matters to Hindi viewers because it suggests the adaptation has earned the trust of the people who know the material best.

Where the box office stands

The numbers give the praise a commercial context.

  • Released: October 2, 2026
  • India net collections: crossed Rs 300 crore
  • Worldwide gross: crossed Rs 480 crore
  • Status: third and final Hindi instalment

These milestones make Drishyam: The Conclusion a major success for the Hindi film industry, and they place Mohanlal’s comments at the centre of the film’s closing campaign.

Two franchises, two endings

The Hindi adaptation has chosen a different path from the Malayalam original. While the Malayalam side has hinted at the possibility of a fourth film, the Hindi producers have confirmed that this is the end. That difference gives the conclusion its weight: Hindi audiences are being asked to treat this as the final chapter, not a pause.

Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, with Tabu, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor in key roles. Abhishek Pathak directed the film, which continues the story of Vijay and his family as they face the consequences of the earlier films.

For followers of the franchise, the video is both a critical nod and a reminder of how far the remake has travelled.
