Hanuman Ansh Day 64: Telugu release lifts net to Rs 1.20 cr

The Telugu version opened on Friday and raised Hanuman Ansh's Day 64 India net to Rs 1.20 crore, a 60% lift; worldwide gross is Rs 428.82 crore.

Hanuman Ansh Day 64 net rises to Rs 1.20 crore

Hanuman Ansh got a late-run lift on Friday, October 9, after the Telugu version opened in theatres. The film collected Rs 1.20 crore in India net collections on Day 64 across 2,145 shows, according to Sacnilk. That is a 60% rise from Thursday’s Rs 75 lakh.

The Hindi version earned Rs 60 lakh net across 1,442 shows. The new Telugu version contributed an equal Rs 60 lakh net from 703 shows.

The number that matters

With the latest collection, Hanuman Ansh’s cumulative India net stands at Rs 329.18 crore. Domestic gross is Rs 388.77 crore, and overseas markets have contributed Rs 40.05 crore. That puts the worldwide gross at Rs 428.82 crore.

For a biographical drama in its tenth week, this is a long-tail run rather than a front-loaded one. The film peaked in Week 5 at Rs 90.25 crore net, then moved through Rs 80.25 crore in Week 6, Rs 44.80 crore in Week 7, Rs 29.20 crore in Week 8 and Rs 10.60 crore in Week 9.

Week-wise shape

  • Week 1: Rs 1.08 crore net; Week 2: Rs 40 lakh.
  • Week 3: Rs 10.40 crore; Week 4: Rs 61 crore.
  • Week 5: Rs 90.25 crore, the highest weekly collection; Week 6: Rs 80.25 crore.
  • Week 7: Rs 44.80 crore; Week 8: Rs 29.20 crore; Week 9: Rs 10.60 crore.

What the new language version changes

The Telugu version did not arrive as a wide, separate event. It added 703 shows alongside the Hindi version’s 1,442 shows. Its overall occupancy was 17.91%, slightly above the Hindi version’s 17.29%. The sharpest contrast came at night: Hindi occupancy reached 27%, while the Telugu version held at 17.91%.

Across both languages, the film recorded 97,900 footfalls on Day 64. The separate language-wise count put the Hindi version at 14% occupancy across 1,442 shows and the Telugu version at 22% across 703 shows. That suggests the Telugu print is finding a fresh audience rather than simply splitting existing demand.

Why this matters for Hindi cinema

Hanuman Ansh is a faith biography and the first part of a planned trilogy inspired by Neem Karoli Baba’s life. Its run shows how spiritual and regional-interest films can keep adding screens and languages long after the initial release. A late language version gives theatre owners a reason to retain shows and gives audiences who missed the Hindi run a fresh entry point.

The film is written, directed and produced by Vishal Chaturvedi, with Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand in the lead roles. Set in pre-Independence India, it follows Lakshmi Narayan’s early search for God and his transformation into Neem Karoli Baba. The project draws from Chaturvedi’s book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life.

The number to watch now is the weekend hold. If the Telugu version maintains through Saturday and Sunday, the language expansion will look like a genuine extension rather than a one-day bump. The worldwide gross may also move as overseas markets finalise reports.
