Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has started its second weekend with a clear box-office marker: it is now the highest-grossing entry in the Hindi Drishyam franchise and the second-highest grosser of Devgn’s career as a lead actor, behind only Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
Early Day 8 figures from Sacnilk, recorded until Friday evening, put the film’s India net collection at Rs 9.46 crore for the day so far. That takes its total India net to Rs 254.96 crore; India gross stands at Rs 305.76 crore, and worldwide gross has already crossed Rs 300 crore.
The franchise record and the career race
The first week did the heavy lifting. By crossing Rs 245 crore net in its opening seven days, Drishyam 3 moved past Drishyam 2, which had collected around Rs 239.67 crore net in India. In doing so, the Abhishek Pathak-directed film became the biggest earner in the Hindi Drishyam series.
The milestone also reorganises Devgn’s filmography. Drishyam 3 has now out-earned several of his successful lead vehicles, including Golmaal Again, Total Dhamaal, Shaitaan and Singham Returns. Tanhaji, with roughly Rs 279.59 crore India net, is the only film still ahead.
- Day 8 so far: Rs 9.46 crore net, with evening and night shows still to come
- Day 6: Rs 15.50 crore net; Day 7: Rs 13 crore net
- Total India net: Rs 254.96 crore; India gross: Rs 305.76 crore
- Worldwide gross: above Rs 300 crore, with Rs 400 crore in sight
The film, released on October 2, stars Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Rajat Kapoor, with Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj joining the cast. That ensemble has helped the final chapter maintain franchise continuity while adding new faces.
Why the second weekend settles the race
Drishyam 3 enters the weekend with little direct competition. Udta Teer, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, has been moved from October 9 to October 23, leaving the field open for the Devgn film’s second frame.
The film was running in 12,695 shows in India on Day 8. Occupancy was around 15% by Friday evening—a figure expected to improve as evening and night shows build. That hold will tell the industry whether the film has enough word of mouth to chase Tanhaji’s lead-film record and get closer to the Rs 400 crore worldwide gross.
For a franchise built on tension and audience trust, the final chapter is now less about whether it has succeeded and more about how far it can go.
