After an extended Gandhi Jayanti weekend, the number that mattered for Drishyam 3 was not the holiday total but the first regular working day. Monday produced Rs 21 crore across 16,274 shows at roughly 25% occupancy, according to Sacnilk. By the end of Day 4, the film stood at Rs 197.50 crore net in India and Rs 309 crore worldwide.
Tuesday added Rs 19 crore net, taking India net to Rs 216.50 crore. India gross reached Rs 259.80 crore, overseas gross Rs 81.50 crore, and the worldwide cume Rs 341.30 crore. The tracker also recorded more than 82,000 shows and cumulative India footfall above 8.7 million.
Why the hold matters more than the opening
A Monday hold in the Rs 20 crore range is the clearest signal yet that Drishyam 3 is being carried by word of mouth rather than holiday-aided sampling. The film has also overtaken Tom Cruise’s Digger.
The franchise gives the context. Nishikant Kamat’s Drishyam (2015) established Vijay Salgaonkar as a cable operator who bends rules to protect his family. Drishyam 2 (2022) became one of the year’s biggest Hindi hits. Drishyam: The Conclusion is positioned as the end of the story, with Ajay Devgn returning as Vijay and Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav reprising their roles. Jaideep Ahlawat joins as Rajveer Singh Tomar, a Crime Branch officer reopening the case.
The numbers so far
- Day 4 (Monday): Rs 21 crore net; Rs 309 crore worldwide cume
- Day 5 (Tuesday): Rs 19 crore net; Rs 341.30 crore worldwide cume
- Cumulative reach: 82,000+ shows and 8.7 million+ tickets in India
Panorama Studios produces the film, with Star Studio18 presenting. The screenplay is credited to Abhishek Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh.
The next test is the remaining working week. If the film holds around Tuesday’s level, the finale will push its lifetime total higher; even a sharper dip would leave the Rs 341.30 crore worldwide figure as a clear sign of the franchise’s pull.
