Paresh Rawal has officially confirmed he won’t be reprising his beloved role of Baburao in Hera Pheri 3, and fans are heartbroken. But his dignified and heartfelt response to a fan’s emotional plea has made waves online.
When a fan begged him on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “You are the hero of Hera Pheri,” Rawal responded with grace and humility: “NO… There are Three Heroes in Hera Pheri,” ending the message with a folded hands and red heart emoji.
Despite confirming his exit, Rawal made it clear there were no creative disputes. “I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away was not due to creative differences. I reiterate that I have immense love and respect for Priyadarshan,” he tweeted.
In a separate interview, Rawal referred to the role of Baburao as both iconic and creatively limiting — calling it a “gale ka fanda” (a noose around the neck) that hindered him from exploring diverse roles. After the first film’s success, he even approached filmmakers like Vishal Bhardwaj and R. Balki to break the mold.
Even as fans continue their campaigns to bring him back, Paresh Rawal’s graceful stance proves he’ll always be a true legend of Indian cinema — whether or not he returns to his iconic role.
