Drishyam 3 weekend: Rs 176.5 cr net, Rs 272.8 cr global

The third chapter of the Drishyam saga has closed its opening weekend with the kind of hold that matters more than the opening itself. Drishyam 3: The Conclusion added an estimated Rs 61 crore net in India on Sunday from 17,299 shows, according to trade figures, taking its three-day India net to Rs 176.50 crore.

Sunday’s number did not merely hold: it rose from Saturday’s Rs 53.50 crore net, even after a Rs 62 crore opening day. The film’s worldwide gross after Day 3 stands at Rs 272.80 crore, with overseas markets contributing Rs 61 crore gross cumulatively.

The opening weekend, day by day

  • Day 1: Rs 62 crore net / Rs 74.40 crore gross
  • Day 2: Rs 53.50 crore net / Rs 138.60 crore two-day gross
  • Day 3: Rs 61 crore net / Rs 211.80 crore India gross

The distinction between net and gross matters here. Net collections reflect the distributor’s share after taxes, while gross reflects the fuller ticket value; that is why the worldwide gross figure runs well ahead of the India net total.

Why the Sunday uptick matters

Franchise finales often open large and then soften. A Sunday that beats Saturday suggests the audience beyond the holiday crowd is still arriving. For a film carrying a U/A 16+ certificate and a 150-minute runtime, that is a healthy signal for the weekdays.

Abhishek Pathak returns as director, with Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta back in the central roles, and Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat joining the ensemble. The story continues to follow Vijay Salgaonkar and his family under fresh pressure, and it was cleared by the CBFC without cuts.

What comes next

The opening-weekend milestone sets a question the weekdays will answer: whether Drishyam 3 can challenge the lifetime business of Drishyam 2. The first test is Monday. If the hold continues beyond the holiday-assisted weekend, the conclusion may establish a new lifetime mark for the franchise rather than simply lean on its past.
