The Drishyam franchise has spent two days turning a long-range box-office milestone into an open race. Before Drishyam The Conclusion arrived, the Ajay Devgn-led series sat at No. 21 among Hindi franchises with a combined India net of Rs 307.67 crore. The third film’s first two days have changed that position decisively.
Drishyam The Conclusion collected Rs 112.98 crore, lifting the franchise total to Rs 420.65 crore. That takes it to roughly No. 14, above Dhoom at Rs 396.88 crore and Dhamaal at Rs 394.42 crore. Dabangg, at Rs 439.99 crore, is the next name in reach.
The arithmetic of a Top 10 place
Breaking into the all-time Top 10 is a matter of one figure: Singham’s combined India net of Rs 509.27 crore. To overtake Singham, the Drishyam franchise needs another Rs 88.62 crore from the current film.
That target is no longer abstract. Bollywood Hungama had calculated before release that Drishyam The Conclusion would need to contribute Rs 201.60 crore for the franchise to clear the Top 10 cut-off. Two days in, it has already delivered Rs 112.98 crore, more than half the required amount.
A franchise that keeps compounding
Each instalment has opened well above its predecessor:
- Drishyam: Rs 5.80 crore on Day 1; lifetime Rs 67.13 crore.
- Drishyam 2: Rs 15.38 crore on Day 1; lifetime Rs 240.54 crore.
- Drishyam The Conclusion: Rs 62.03 crore on Day 1; Rs 112.98 crore in two days.
The leap from a Rs 5.80 crore opening day to Rs 62.03 crore is the hallmark of a franchise becoming an event. The second film’s Rs 240.54 crore lifetime built the base for this moment, and the third is now converting that trust into a franchise-level record chase.
Why the Top 10 matters
The lower rungs of the leaderboard are tightly packed. Dhurandhar leads at Rs 2004.05 crore, but the fight around the Top 10 is close: Bhool Bhulaiyaa at Rs 518.82 crore, Singham at Rs 509.27 crore, War at Rs 503.14 crore and KGF at Rs 478.79 crore. Clearing Singham puts Drishyam inside a cluster where one strong instalment can change a franchise’s place on the all-time chart.
What to watch next
The test now is the hold. Drishyam The Conclusion has banked Rs 112.98 crore at the beginning of its theatrical journey, and it needs Rs 88.62 crore more. If the film retains a meaningful share of its audience, it will not only cross Singham but also settle among the biggest commercial brands in Hindi cinema. If it dips sharply, the franchise will remain just outside the club.
For readers who track Hindi cinema as a record, the next few days determine whether Drishyam becomes a benchmark or a near-miss.
