Creator of the recently released Amazon Prime Video web series dance of fury Issued an unconditional apology on Monday for hurting religious sentiments. The nine-episode web series sparked a controversy after it was expressed by a section of people that part of the series disrespected a particular religion and used racist scenes and dialogues. An FIR was also lodged against the makers of the series and the head of streaming platform Amazon Prime Video in India.
Allegedly, the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also received several complaints, demanding a ban on the series. On Monday evening, director Ali Abbas Zafar took to his social media handle to issue an apology to the team. “We are closely monitoring audience reactions to the web series Tandav and during a discussion today, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting received a large number of complaints and petitions on various aspects of the web series with serious concerns and apprehensions. Has informed us about it. ” Its content is hurting the sentiments of the people, ”the statement read.
