This year has been extraordinary in terms of content that has been removed from the web world, and some of the biggest shows of 2020 were the stable of Voot Select. In line with its prologue – produced for stories, the stage showcased content across genres and rolled out an extraordinary original that was much appreciated by audiences. Whether it was never before the confluence of mythology and science in the highly acclaimed Asuras, or completely far and digitally shot The Gone Game, or Suicide and Sleek Crackdown, which survive the magic of the big screen Diya, the selection of Voot has just been put up to raise the bar in terms of giving top-class content.
Energetic thrillers, in addition to their list of candies, are as sweet a plot as a plot surrounded by stories of drugs, politics, ambition and murder. But behind these sinister deeds is a man or an animal, no one can tell. Set in a boarding school in a misty mountain town, this candy is set to be filled with action, thrills, and an entire jobbreaker. Richa Chadha and Ronit Roy in the lead roles, will surely take the audience on an adrenaline-charged quest to uncover secrets.
Talking about it, Ronit Roy says, “I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with so many talented directors who have helped my learning curve tremendously. With the advent of the digital entertainment era, there is a lot of good work for everyone and many people are doing such good work, it is great and inspiring. I think that there are huge opportunities and will grow further. I am proud to be part of some fantastic OTT shows and now I am extremely excited and waiting to start work on Candy. Kudos to the entire team at Voot Select for coming up with such a strong concept. My role is complex and challenging, which simply makes it more interesting. I think this is going to be a very exciting ride and can’t wait to share this piece with you. “
Richa Chadha said, “I was drawn to the screenplay and my role in the show had different dimensions. This thriller / psychological horror space is new to me. Playing character with depth is something that has always interested me and It was the perfect opportunity. Of course, working with someone like Ronit is very exciting, because this will be the first time I will share screen space with him as well as other brilliant actors like Nakul Sahadev, Manurishi Chaddha. I am the director. I am excited to collaborate with Ashish Shukla, as he was one of the first people in the industry since the beginning of my career.
Along with Ronit Roy and Richa Chadha, the show also stars Manu Rishi Chadha and Nakula Sahadev. The series is directed by Ashish R. Shukla has done and is produced by Optimics Entertainment.
Candy is expected to be released in 2021 on Voot Select.
