    0

In an exciting development, it is learned that Akshay Kumar is in advanced discussions for a folklore-inspired horror project with filmmaker Siddharth Anand, best known for directing blockbusters like War and Pathaan.

Sources reveal that the untitled film will explore a deeply emotional father-daughter relationship set against the backdrop of Indian folklore. Designed as a large-scale, VFX-heavy horror drama, the project aims to redefine the genre with a theatrical experience that breaks away from conventional mainstream horror in Indian cinema.

Thug Life Movie Review: Slick Style, Empty Substance- A Tribute to uninspired Filmmaking

    0

    Movie Review by Prashant Shukla

    Plot:

In a world ruled by crime and betrayal, mafia boss Sakthivel and his brother Manickam rescue a young boy, Amar, during a deadly police shootout and raise him like their own son. Years later, when someone tries to kill Sakthivel, he starts to suspect his own people. Driven by anger and revenge, Sakthivel turns against the very family he once cared for.

    The Performances:

Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR lead the way with action, violence, style, and a touch of emotion sprinkled throughout. Their chemistry is somewhat memorable, but even that doesn’t rise above average. Apart from them, the rest of the characters feel like mere props, with little to no development-especially Trisha Krishnan, whose potential is completely wasted in the film.

    The Technical Aspects:

There’s something about veteran directors in the industry and their obsession with Cinebots that needs to be studied. Just like Shankar, Mani Ratnam too seems fixated on using the Cinebot camera in every action sequence. A tool meant to enhance and smoothen action scenes- something Lokesh Kanagaraj executed brilliantly in Vikram-ends up being jarring to the eye in Thug Life. Disappointing!

    Writing and Direction:

The biggest issue with Thug Life is the lack of depth and a missing core that could make you care about the story. Characters come and go without impact or clear motivation, and the dialogues feel scattered, lacking emotional weight. The revenge angle feels hollow and unengaging. Kamal Haasan’s character is deeply flawed, which isn’t the problem-you can have a morally grey protagonist-but at the very least, he should be compelling to watch.

    Final Verdict:

In conclusion, Thug Life is beautiful to look at, but how long can you keep staring at something that’s hollow from within?

A brutally honest reflection on emotional immaturity, this moment from Aamir Khan is as heart-wrenching as it is human.

IPL 2025 Grand Finale: RCB’s Historic Win Sparks Star-Studded Celebrations, Virushka Moments Melt the Internet

After an 18-year-long wait, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally lifted the IPL trophy, defeating Punjab Kings in a thrilling final that wrapped up IPL 2025 in spectacular fashion. The victory ignited a wave of celebrations across the country, with stars like Mahesh Babu, Rishab Shetty, and Rashmika Mandanna showering the team with praise.

Mahesh Babu declared RCB’s win as “written in the stars,” hailing Virat Kohli’s performance. Rishab Shetty called it a “dream come true” moment, brimming with pride over the team’s comeback. Meanwhile, Rashmika Mandanna had her fangirl moment, sharing a victorious team photo on Instagram with the caption, “Smells like victory in here.”

But it was Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma — fondly dubbed Virushka — who stole the show with their heartwarming post-match moments. From Virat’s emotional tears as he hugged Anushka to her ecstatic jump in the stands, their bond lit up social media. An Absolute Necessity”: Mani Ratnam Backs Deepika Padukone Amid Spirit Controversy

Deepika Padukone’s exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit stirred up headlines, with reports citing unmet demands for a fixed shooting schedule and a Rs 40 crore fee as key reasons behind her departure. While her decision led to mixed reactions, several big names have come out in her support — the latest being acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam.

In a recent interview with News18, the Thug Life director called Deepika’s demands “absolutely necessary” and entirely justified. “It’s a rightful ask, and I’m glad she’s in a position to make it,” he said. Ratnam emphasized that filmmakers must recognize and accommodate such conditions, especially when casting top-tier talent. “It should be the priority,” he added, lauding Deepika’s courage and professionalism.

Deepika was initially excited about the Spirit storyline and her role opposite Prabhas. However, the deal reportedly collapsed over disagreements regarding pay and scheduling flexibility. Further tension arose when the director allegedly asked her to learn Telugu for dubbing, prompting her final decision to exit the film.

Since then, the actress has received widespread support for standing her ground. After Ajay Devgn’s vocal backing, Mani Ratnam’s endorsement solidifies the sentiment that Deepika’s stance is not arrogance — but assertion.

Currently on maternity break after welcoming her daughter Dua, Deepika will next appear in King alongside Shah Rukh and Suhana Khan.

Trying to Work It Out: Anees Bazmee Opens Up About Diljit Dosanjh’s No Entry 2 Status

Amid swirling rumours that Diljit Dosanjh has walked out of No Entry 2, director Anees Bazmee has finally set the record straight. In an exclusive conversation with News18, Bazmee confirmed ongoing discussions regarding the singer-actor’s dates, revealing that nothing has been finalized yet.

“We’re still figuring out the dates. There’s been a bit of back and forth,” Bazmee said, noting that their latest meeting lasted just ten minutes but remained cordial. “Boney ji was present too,” he added, indicating a collaborative attempt to retain Diljit in the ensemble cast.

The comedy sequel, which also stars Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor, generated major buzz after news broke of its fresh cast. However, Diljit’s tight schedule has posed a hurdle. Despite that, Bazmee remains optimistic. “If it doesn’t work out, it’s okay. I’ve often worked with actors who weren’t the first choice. It always works out in the end,” he said.

Recalling their first meeting, Bazmee shared that Diljit didn’t even need to hear the entire script. “He understood the idea and instantly said yes,” the director recalled fondly, still calling him a “talented and honest” actor.

While fans wait for an official casting update, the hope remains that Dosanjh’s dates will align and that the laughter riot will unfold as planned.

Chidiya Movie Review: There are sagas, ordinary stories, but once in a while, there’s a tale that just warms your heart

    Movie review by Prashant Shukla

    Plot:

Shanu and Bua lose their father and are forced to grow up too soon and have to work on film sets as spot-boys. A random game of badminton sparks a small dream – to play just one match. From raising money for rackets to making a court out of nothing, the boys fight every hurdle with hope and heart. Life keeps testing them, but they move forward – hand in hand, with teary eyes and smiling faces.

    The Performances:

The performances in this film don’t even feel like performances – they feel lived in. Amruta Subhash as Vaishnavi brings out a woman torn between strength and deep regret. Vinay Pathak as Bali is that quiet, comforting father figure you wish you had. But it’s Ayush and Svar as Bua and Shanu who truly steal the show – the kids act their hearts out. Every look, every tear, every smile – it all hits straight to the soul.

    Not an Impostor:

Chidiya is not one of those overly self-indulgent indie films that feel like borderline silent movies hiding under the label of “art-house films.” It’s a qissa – a heartfelt tale from the margins, the kind of story the mainstream often overlooks. Yes, it has its long silences and reflective pauses, but also raw, emotional dialogues that cut deep. It doesn’t pretend to be minimal just to seem “deep” – it feels, it breathes, and it speaks when it needs to.

    The Songs

There are about 3 or 4 songs in the film, and each one fits the tone so perfectly that the music becomes one of its biggest highlights. Composed by Shailendra Barve and written by Jitendra Joshi and Mehran Amrohi, the songs truly stay with you – especially ‘Aye Dil Ki Nanhi Chidiya’.
