On Thursday, India’s new foreign badminton coach Mathias Boe requested Sports minister Kiren Rijiju to help his girlfriend and Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu after the Income-tax department raided her house and office.
He took to the social media and mentioned that the raids are causing stress to the actress’s family.
Mathias Boe, “Finding myself in a bit of turmoil. Representing Flag of India for the first time as a coach for some great athletes, meanwhile, I-T department is raiding Taapsee’s houses back home, putting unnecessary stress on her family, especially her parents. Man shrugging. @KirenRijiju please do something.”
The Union Minister tweeted back to Mathias and said, “Law of the land is supreme and we must abide by that. The subject matter is beyond yours and my domain. We must stick to our professional duties in the best interest of Indian Sports”.
On Wednesday morning, Income Tax official conducted raids at the Mumbai residence of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, actress Taapsee Pannu and Vikas Bahl. As per the reports, the raids are being conducted in connection with production and distribution company Phantom Films helmed by Anurag Kashyap, director Vikramaditya Motwane, producer Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl. The company was founded in 2011 by all four of them and it announced its dissolution on October 5, 2018.
It has been noted that Kashyap, Bahl, and Pannu have been vocal on the social media platforms and have also raised their concern over the farmers’ protest, which has been going at the borders of the national capital since November 26 last year against the three farm laws.
