This Republic Day, the BJP politician Shatrughan Sinha has lashed out at the Government for not honoring Sonu Sood with a Padma award.
During the covid situation, actor Sonu sood was a great help for thousands of migrant workers in different parts of the country who wished to enter their homes safely. The actor provided funds, transport, and various other needs for the needy. The generous actor previously distributed nearly 100 smartphones to students for educational purposes. During Covid, the actor distributed nearly 100 phones in parts of Punjab, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai. It was for the career of the student who were not able to effort a phone. In this case, Sonu Sood need to be honoured with an award for his generous help and work towards the migrants.
In an interview, Shatrughan said, “Bataaiyee aap, Sonu Sood ko honour nahin kiya.. Issse dishonourable kya ho Sakta hai? The work that Sonu has done with migrants during the lockdown and the work that he continues to do with the needy and the distressed in our country—in our country, there’s no dearth of them—is exemplary. If the Government is not honouring and recognizing Sonu’s efforts then the national awards have no relevance. It’s like the great Dilip Kumar not being given a single National award.Shameful.”
He further mentioned, “Our filmi heroes are heroes only on screen. Off-screen, they are silent spectators watching victims bleeding to death at the roadside. Tamasha dekhne wale hain yeh log. I would say Sonu is not just a hero, he is a super-hero.”
